Vince and Melnine were at it again and this time they gate-crashed (just joking :p) the Bellarocca Golf Course.

Bellarocca is one of the high-end resorts managed by The Genesis Hotels and Resorts Corporation (GHRC)

At exactly 9 in the morning, we were roaming the National Roads of Santa Cruz and Torrijos , upon reaching Brgy. Tigwi, Torrijos we turned left to a road branch leading to the south western part of Marinduque wherein you can find the coastal Barangays of Torrijos and Buenavista (Dampulan, Lipata, etc.)

The stretch of road is currently under construction and is expected to cater to more vehicles in the year 2012. Some parts of the road are still rough; hopefully in a few months they would construct concrete ones.

The Bellarocca Golfcourse Clubhouse

Arriving at the Main Gate of the Bellarocca 9-Hole Golf Course, we chance upon a maintenance staff and we asked if could see the place, he directed us at the Main Gate of the Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa where we saw a bunch of guests arriving in a watercraft while their attendants and their Bellarocca Shuttle are waiting for them to arrive.

We waited for the Security Staff to finish assisting the guests, we asked him if we could see the Golf Course, interviewed us a little and radioed Mr. Anito, the Guest Service Officer of the Island Resort and Spa, asked a few things and said to “standby at tatawid ako”. He meant that he would ride his watercraft to have a chat with us. Waiting for 20 minutes is a mixed emotion of excitement and “ennui” (boredom)
.

Once we saw Mr. Anito arriving aboard his watercraft, I started walking towards the port as a sign of respect to the Head of Guest Service. We acknowledged each other, started introducing ourselves and went straight to our agenda. I learned from him that the Resort and Spa will not be entertaining DAY TOURS to maintain the PRIVACY of their Guests. He said that it is a disconcerting scene for the guests to see a group of Day Tourists in a place that is supposed to be tranquil and formal, I agree with that.
At the end of our conversation, he allowed us to see the Golf Course and the Clubhouse. We signed in the logbook and started our tour inside the Golf Course Facility of Bellarocca.

The breathtaking sight, fresh air, alluring landscapes, immense and lofty trees and the modern-inspired structure of the Clubhouse are just a fraction of what you’ll see inside the Facility.

We took pictures while roaming inside the clubhouse and in the 9-Hole Golf Course. Golfers alike, will enjoy playing while seeing the view of the Island Resort and Spa, the open ocean and the majestic Mt. Malindig.

Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa, Marinduque, Philippines will fully open and will be in full operations this coming year 2012.

It was a great day for us; we went back to Santa Cruz with a huge smile in our faces. Seeing nature never fails to make you flaunt a grin.

Thank you so much to Mr. Anito, the Security Staffs and the Maintenance Staffs of Bellarocca.

Our Lady of  Good Voyage

Balanacan Port, Mogpog, Marinduque

Me and my buddy Ramil were on an official business but unfortunately, we are unfortunate

(hahaha! I'd rather not post about this, it's a serious matter)

so instead of going home empty handed, we searched for a hidden spot somewhere around the Port and voila!, a group of huge oceanic rocks behind the grotto. It was an excellent view of the Islets surrounding the port of Balanacan.

The Luzon Datum of 1911

Hinanggayon, Argao, Mogpog, Marinduque, Philippines

The Philippine Historical Commission (formerly Philippine Historical Institute) installed a new marker

The Rock Marker

________A Brief Historic Intoduction________

Sometime in 1906 the USCGS (now NOAA) establized a geodetic marker drilled in a cubic meter of diorite rock atop this mountain formerly belongong to Balanacan, Mogpog but is at the bounderies of Brgy. Argao, Hinanggayon and Silangan, Mogpog, Marinduque and another reference rock marker about 10 feet away. This important geodetic point marker is used as point number one for all map makers of the country.Besides the Luzon Datum of 1911 rock marker, the Philippine NAMRIA establized a concrete reference marker. This Luzon Datum of 1911 is at first level accuracy.

This is a tree planting activity of a certain Fraternity (Marinduque Council)

The dukezzapers are very lucky to be invited to join in the tree planting / hiking activity by that certain fraternity. We started our journey by gathering and joining forces (hehehe) at the Mogpog Park, infront of Mogpog Municipal Building and across Mogpog Covered Court and Plaza. Aboard the hired jeepney, it was a swift and dusty trip from Balanacan to Hinanggayon.Once we set foot in Brgy. Hinanggayon, the Officers of the fraternity conversed with the locals, the Brgy. Officials as well as to their brother in Hinanggayon.

After the courtesy call, we are then required to sign in the Logbook ^_^

Once you're signed in, you may begin your tiring and perspiring journey to the peek of Luzon Datum.

It was a bright and sunny day for us adventurers.

(The Officers and members of the Fraternity, Marinduque Uzzapers, Sangguniang Kabataan Officials of Mogpog and friends)

The trail to luzon datum has changed tremendously because in the previous years, the trail is not fit for an ordinary hike. The Provincial Tourism Department of Marinduque had made excavations for a better hiking trail.

* You should bring lots of water for you to not get dehydrated, packed lunch and extra snacks plus some protection against the sun.

We are catching our breaths, we perspired a lot, we got thirsty and hungry but we suddenly kind of forget about our body needs because we are overwhelmed by the very beautiful view atop the peek of Luzon Datum.

We, as Marinduquenos are very proud that the Geodetical Center of the Philippines can be found in our own province.

To be atop the Luzon Datum, seeing the great view and being a part of history are the main reasons for us to be very proud and happy.

Until the next hike!

Thank you so much, specially to the Officers of the Broda'hood.
Thank you for the opportunity to help mother nature in a little way.

Marinduque is truly the Heart of the Philippines!

Mabuhay Marinduquenos!

Mabuhay Pilipinas!

PS. *ALWAYS REMEMBER: Do not Litter!
We, the Marinduque Uzzapers are BEGGIN' you to not Litter.
Leave nothing but footprints. Thank you.
